Why we built an app for the plan of life

Plan of Life App was born from something very simple: my brother Mauricio and I (Diego) wanted a tool like this for ourselves, and we couldn't find one that was up to the task.

One bit at a time

In 2009 we founded Bakía with the intention of bringing Art and Technology together to create impactful digital products. For years we built software for all kinds of companies. But over time something hard to ignore was growing in us: the desire to put our skills at the service of something with more purpose.

Mauricio and I are Catholics. People close to the Work, who live our plan of life, or at least try to every day. And it was precisely that personal experience that made us see the need: many people want to keep their piety norms with order and consistency, but the existing tools were hard to use, outdated, or simply uninspiring.

That's how Plan of Life was born. From a personal need that matched the need of many others. We decided to put what the entire Bakía team knows how to do — design and build software — at the service of those who want to care for their interior life without complications. A simple, secure, ad-free, and completely private app.

The plan is simple: keep listening to users, understand what they need, and improve the app little by little. Because the goal is not just to make a well-built app. The goal is to help those who use it focus on what truly matters: keeping a close and living relationship with God, in the midst of ordinary life.
